Way back 90s veteran actors Richard Mofe
Damijo (RMD) and Ego Boyo are the couple
children wait to watch on Thursdays when TV
series Checkmate was shown. They acted the
role of Anne Hastorpe and Segun Kadiri.
Tuesday, September 6 was Boyo’s birthday
and RMD took time out to give a super-cute
birthday shout-out to his ‘original onscreen
wifey’ .
In doing this, the actor cum lawyer
brought back nostalgic feelings way back with
this love note.

something odd years ago and was introduced to
a young lady who went to my school (Uniben), it
was the start of Checkmate which marked our
first work relationship. Then it was Violated and
much later, Keeping Faith. Each time we were
“lit” like the young folks would say -lol-

In the same tone, Ego Boyo commented on
RMD’s love note birthday greetings to her

Meanwhile, RMD not only wished Boyo well on
her birthday, he opened up nostalgic feelings
in their fans as they went down memory lane
and how they had wished RMD and Ego Boyo
will end up as husband and wife. Some even
want them to act as couple again.
